Fall and it’s magnificent foliage colors is about to start. It’s time to have a day off and take the road to appreciate the beauty fall has to offer us. Here are 5 destinations you can take to have a blast and fully take advantage of fall season.
A) Mont Tremblant, Laurentides (1h30 from Montreal): For those who don’t want to drive more than 2 hours, go to the Laurentides, up north! You’ll see beautiful landscapes and lots of hikes are possible.
B) Sutton, Eastern Townships (1h30 from Montreal): A second roatrip that is less than 2 hours away from Montreal, but heading east. You can climb the mountain or take the chair lift up the to the top!
C) Coaticook, Eastern Townships (2hrs from Montreal): Get lost in the the country roads near Coaticook. You can also visit the Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook, a canyon filled with bright colors. If you stay until nightfall, you can also experience Foresta Lumina, an attraction that lights up the woods.
D) Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Lanaudière (2hrs from Montreal): That one isn’t fair, my family’s cottage is near the small village. Take a walk along the Lac Taureau or hike the trails of the Parc des Sept Chutes.
E) Stowe, Vermont-USA (2h30 from Montreal): I fell in love with that town two years ago. It is located in a valley that turns orange during fall. Biking, hiking and local products are wainting for you. If you drive 45 min south you’ll end in Montpelier, capital of Vermont. A beautiful town with pubs and cafés that will refresh you after a long day of hiking and driving. Don’t forget your passeport!
